Walter Distelzweig was introduced as the new Columbus police chief, saying he will take a “hands on” approach to the job. “I’ll be out there, you’ll see me,” he said during a morning news conference in City Hall. “I’ll be accessible.” Mayor Michael B. Coleman chose Distelzweig from among four applicants, calling him “a leader, first and foremost He gets things done.”
